The time for taking stock has come. You must concentrate on what is bathed in living light and seems ever more important. The world has grown more complex, yet more and more right paths are coming into view, pledges of the future in the service of Truth, Beauty and Love.
There exist countless facets of your life which until now have perhaps meant constraint, burden and complication, but the very thing that had caused you trouble, if you use it as an instrument of perfection, no longer results in bondage but in freedom.
These conditions of your life are good frames, worth filling again and again with new substance, ever purer and more exalted. Take care that keeping up the frames does not consume your devotion and enthusiasm, and so hide the essence. Nor be surprised if what you have built in your life totters from time to time, or even collapses. Regard it as the breaking down of barriers, so that you may look about you more freely, more hopefully. What breaks down is transient, do not mourn it; what remains is lasting, rejoice in it. The true values you will find among the ruins…
Be attentive at every step. Keep it in your heart as a certainty that nothing escapes the notice of Providence, and that the doer of good is never overcome by evil.
Having taught his disciple the Vedas, the master exhorts him thus:
– Speak the truth! Practise virtue! Do not neglect your daily studies! When you have brought your master a pleasing gift, take care that the thread of your family line is not broken. Do not neglect truth! Do not neglect virtue! Do not neglect welfare! Do not neglect prosperity! Do not neglect learning and teaching! Do not neglect the service of the gods and the ancestors! Look upon your mother as God! Look upon your father as God! Look upon your master as God! Look upon your guest as God! … Whatever deed is spotless, that alone do, no other! Whatever practice is right, that follow, no other! This is the commandment. This is the teaching. This is the secret teaching of the Vedas. This is the instruction. This is the way of perfection, truly, this is the way of perfection! (Taittiriya Upanishad 1.11.1)
The distinctive trait of spiritual science is that it is not merely one theory among many, not just a book gathering dust on your shelf. It is not some legend from many thousands of years ago that no longer holds today. No, these are eternal truths. Truth is truth, knowledge is knowledge, love is love. These are the three chief elements of spiritual science.
The Arab philosopher Rauf Mazari says: ‘Love is activity, activity is knowledge, knowledge is truth, truth is love.’ And Rabindranath Tagore answers him: ‘I fell asleep, and dreamt: life is joy. I awoke, and saw: life is duty. I acted, and recognised: duty is joy.’ Do good. If even the smallest bit of knowledge has lodged in you, you are no longer free, you must act rightly. Make no mistake, right action is obligatory. You need universal aims and concrete decisions that will guarantee the fruitful and pure flow of your life in the long run as well, and at last your arrival at the goal. For you must not only set out: arriving matters more.

Please always remember the calling, become conscious of the ultimate questions, and serve. Help the divine will to prevail and divine love to be fulfilled.
